Why are the squares the size of the fabric?
A design drawn at true size is just as big on the fabric, so you see the finished size on paper.
What are the bold lines for?
Cross stitch charts are counted in blocks of 10. Bold lines make counting easier, and the arrows on the edges mark the center of the fabric.
