How to use bead graph paper

  1. Pick the paper and print it

Choose the stitch and the bead and download the PDF. Print at 100% so every bead on the grid matches your real beads.

  2. Color your design

Fill the beads with pencils or markers. Because the grid is true to size, you see the real width and length of your bracelet on paper.

  3. Follow it while you bead

Row numbers help you find your place. To take the design digital, the BeadDot editor has the same grid.

Bead graph paper FAQ

Why are peyote and brick stitch paper the same?

Both stitches stack rows shifted by half a bead; brick stitch is peyote turned a quarter. Choose rows “down” for offset columns.

Which paper is for loom and square stitch?

“Loom / square stitch”. Both stitches sit on a straight grid with no offset between rows.

Are the beads on the paper true to size?

Yes, if you print at 100%. A Delica 11/0 takes about 1.7 mm along a row (thread included) and 1.3 mm between rows. Thread tension can change that a little.

Does it work for Perler and Hama pegboards?

Yes. “Perler / Hama pegboard” draws a round grid with 5 mm spacing for midi beads and 2.5 mm for Hama mini.

Can I design my pattern on a computer instead?

Yes. The BeadDot editor gives you the same grid on screen: paint beads with real color codes, get the materials list and download the pattern as a PDF. It is free and needs no sign-up.

Draw on screen instead of paper

The same grid in the editor: paint with color codes, undo, get the materials list and follow row by row.
