From photo to ironed artwork in three steps

  1. Choose your image

Photos with a plain background, game characters, logos and drawings give the best results.

  2. Set the size and colors

29 beads wide fits one large square pegboard; for bigger pieces pick 58 and put four pegboards side by side.

  3. Place and iron

Place the beads row by row with follow mode, cover them with ironing paper and iron on medium heat.

Converting is only the start

Most converters hand you a picture and stop there. In BeadDot the pattern stays in your account as a project you can edit.

  • Edit bead by bead

Clean up the conversion with brush, fill, selection and mirror tools; undo history keeps every step.

  • Place it row by row

Follow mode shows the next bead and its color and saves your place, so you never get lost on a big piece.

  • Get the bead list

See how many beads of each color you need, compare them with the colors you own and print it all as a PDF.

  • Real color codes

Colors come from the 199 shades of the Artkal S series, so you can buy them by code.

Tips for a better Artkal bead picture

  • Crop the picture to its subject first; empty background is wasted beads.
  • Fewer colors make a cleaner pattern. 6–10 colors are usually enough for a character.
  • Iron on medium heat without steam, in small circles for 10–20 seconds; stop once the beads melt slightly into each other.
  • Let the piece cool under a heavy book after ironing so it stays flat.
