From picture to bead pattern in three steps
Choose your image
A photo, logo, name or drawing — simple, high-contrast pictures give the best results.
Set the width and colors
Pick 10–20 beads wide for a bracelet or 40–80 for a wall hanging; fewer colors make a cleaner pattern.
Edit and weave with follow mode
Fix single beads in the editor, get the materials list and never lose your place with follow mode.
Converting is only the start
Most converters hand you a picture and stop there. In BeadDot the pattern stays in your account as a project you can edit.
Edit bead by bead
Clean up the conversion with brush, fill, selection and mirror tools; undo history keeps every step.
Follow it row by row
Follow mode shows the next bead and saves your progress and time. Pick up where you left off the next day, on any device.
Know your materials
See how many beads and grams each color takes, and compare them with the colors you already own.
Real color codes
Colors come from 1,200+ Miyuki Delica 11/0 or TOHO Treasure 11/0 shades, so you can order them by code.
Tips for a better loom pattern
- Crop the picture to its subject first; empty background is wasted beads.
- Fewer colors make a cleaner pattern. 4–8 colors are usually enough for a bracelet.
- Faces and fine detail need a wider pattern; logos and lettering read well even when narrow.
- Transparent PNG backgrounds become white beads; repaint them in one click in the editor.
Frequently asked questions
Is the image to loom pattern converter free?
Yes. The converter, the pattern editor and follow mode are free, there are no ads and you don’t need an account to start.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser. Only when you choose “Edit and start weaving” is the resulting pattern saved to your account; the image itself is never stored.
Which beads does it support?
The Miyuki Delica 11/0 and TOHO Treasure 11/0 color charts. Every bead is matched to the closest real color in the chart.
How big can a loom pattern be?
The width can be 8 to 80 beads; the length follows the picture’s proportions, up to 80 rows. You can resize the pattern later in the editor.
Can I stitch it in peyote or brick stitch instead?
The converter makes a straight loom grid. You can switch the technique in the editor, but peyote and brick stitch offset their beads, so the picture will look slightly different.
